Hard to believe that almost 16 years have gone by since La Follette graduation. Sometimes it seems like a lifetime ago, and sometimes it seems like yesterday. My journey after graduation began at UW-Green Bay. In 1993 I received my degree in Human Development with a Music minor.

Throughout the summers, I performed at Fox Hills Resort in Mishicot, WI, and also at the Heidel House Resort in Green Lake, WI. It was there that I was recruited to go on a tour singing backup for Keedy from the band Gerard. At the time, Keedy was a Top 40 recording artist, and I was thrilled to possibly have all my dreams come true. Unfortunately, the tour was cancelled, and I was living at home with no job, and no money. I ended up working for years in retail management for Express, Bath and Body Works, and American Eagle. In 1996, I got a 9-5 job working at Carson Pirie Scott as an Assistant Buyer, much better hours!

I met my husband, Mark Zimbal, while performing at the Heidel House in 1992. We were married on October 11, 1997 in Madison. After we were married, I quit my job, and stayed home. We did a lot of traveling, and I did some volunteering. We lived in Pewaukee for about 3 years, and decided to build in 2000. So, in 2001 we moved into our home in Delafield, WI. After a couple years of trying to get pregnant, we were blessed with our daughter Madison Louise in March 2001. We recently welcomed our second child, a son, Joshua Lewis in October 2003. I feel incredibly blessed to stay at home with my kids, and I don't miss corporate life at all. I love watching my kids grow, and being with them all day. Being a parent has taught me how to be selfless, and appreciate every moment. Parenthood is challenging at times, but so rewarding.

Back to La Follette... I have mixed feelings about high school. I was so insecure within myself, that I really thought I hated high school. However, in retrospect, I had some incredible experiences there. Being in choir, specifically Harmony, INC. was so awesome. I still can't believe we toured Europe at such a young age. What a journey! I also cherish the tight group of friends I had. (You know who you are!) We had so much fun drinking Sun Country wine coolers, hanging out on State St., going to concerts, and just hanging out. I lost touch with a lot of people after high school. I'm really grateful for all of the reunions, especially the 10 year, because it gave me a chance to reconnect with a lot of old friends. Now we keep in touch on a regular basis, and I enjoy that. If anyone wants to chat, I love emailing! My email address is mzimbal@wi.rr.com.

I feel incredibly blessed to have a healthy, happy family, as well as great friends! I look forward to seeing all at the 20 year reunion. God Bless!
